Introduction to Hoopers

Hoopers is one of the UK’s fastest growing dog sports. This is a sport for both human and dogs of any age and ability (dogs must be at least 6 months old). It is a low impact sport with all of the equipment at ground level, ideal for all dogs who want to work and have a lot of fun. Hoopers can also be a great way to help rehabilitation for dogs with previous injuries or those returning to sport after a veterinary procedure. However, always check with your vet first.

Hoopers isn’t about running around at high speed to control the dog. The sport is much more than that, which makes it unique.

It’s a chance for all ages to compete together on a level playing field and have a lot of fun.  You will be taught distance handling and the skills to be able to shape the dog, adding value to the equipment and allowing them to think for themselves alongside listening and looking for commands.

We are very proud to boast, even at the early stage of the sport, two fully qualified advanced Canine Hoopers UK (CHUK) instructors.

As with all we do at Active, we have come up with a 6 week starter package (this will be constantly updated as the sport progresses in the UK). This will cover all aspects of Hoopers, starting with Foundation work and also covering Tunnellers, Barrellers and Touch and Go.

Everyone who joins the class will be given a hoop which is yours to keep for practice. Further hoops will be available at a discount price only available to Active Hooper Members.

Cost £65.00 for the 6 week course Plus £1.00 booking fee.
